Cookie policy

This page describes cookies and similar storage on switch-nodehub.digital. It should be read with our Privacy notice. Last updated 1 August 2026.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site can store in your browser. Related tools such as localStorage can remember a preference without sending it on every request. Switch Nodehub uses a first-party localStorage key to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics, and may set cookies if analytics tags are later enabled after Accept.

Types we use

Essential. Required to remember your cookie choice and to load pages, forms, and header/footer includes. These do not depend on marketing consent. Rejecting optional analytics does not block courses, journal articles, or the contact form.

Analytics (optional). Only if you press Accept on the banner. We currently do not deploy a third-party analytics tag. If we add one, it will measure aggregate page use (for example which programmes are opened) and will not run after Reject. We will update this table before any such tag goes live.

Cookies table

Name Purpose Duration Provider
switchNodehub_cookieChoice Stores Accept or Reject so the banner does not return every visit Until you clear site data (treated as up to 12 months of reliance) Switch Nodehub (first party, localStorage)
Session / host cookies May be set by the hosting platform for load balancing or HTTPS Session or as set by the host Hosting provider
Analytics cookie (not active) Would measure page views after Accept only Typically 1–13 months if introduced Named third party, to be listed here before use

How to manage or disable cookies

Use Accept or Reject on the first-visit banner. Both controls are equal in size; Reject does not hide site features. To change a saved choice, clear localStorage for switch-nodehub.digital in your browser settings, then reload — the banner will appear again. You can also block or delete cookies for this site in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge settings, or use the browser’s “block third-party cookies” control.

Third-party cookies

Embedded images may be requested from public image hosts (for example Unsplash). Those hosts may set their own cookies according to their policies; we do not control them. We do not embed third-party advertising pixels. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts; Google may process the request under its own terms. If we later add a video embed or a map, we will note it here.

Impact of disabling

Rejecting optional analytics, or blocking cookies entirely, does not stop you reading courses, sending the enquiry form, or opening legal pages. If you block all storage, the banner may reappear on every visit and your cookie preference will not persist. Essential includes (header and footer) still load. We will not withhold teaching content as a condition of accepting analytics.
